My name is Deena Alansky, and it was an honor being a candidate in the "2010 Man and Woman of the Year Campaign" to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The annual "Man & Woman of the Year" Campaign is a 10-week friendly competition among Western Pennsylvania area community and professional leaders to raise vital funds for LLS. In 2010, the contest started on March 10, 2010, ending on May 19, 2010. I came in 2nd place with $8,476.51. The 1st place winner of the title "2010 Woman of the Year" raised over $16,000! The Man of the Year raised over $150,000--truly amazing! The campaign was a wonderful experience, and I'm proud to have participated. Many thanks to my family and friends for their neverending support throughout the campaign. I am eternally grateful for your help.
My personal goals for the campaign were to shine a light on the great
work being
done by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and to
raise awareness
for the National Bone Marrow Registry. |
